HCCO members engage in many outreach activities around Central Ohio to combat the many negative stereotypes of nontheists and to let other nontheists know they are not alone.
Every year we have a booth at ComFest. We've also been known to turn up at the Pride Festival, the International Festival and even the Reynoldsburg Tomato Festival!
Representatives from HCCO are available to speak to high school and collage classes, as well as community groups about Humanism and their experiences as nontheists. We are also happy to participate in inter-traditional (interfaith) dialogue groups, panel discussions, and more! Please contact us if you're interested in having us participate in your event!
In November 2009, HCCO led a coalition of local skeptic, atheist, humanist, and other freethought groups in creating the Columbus Coalition of Reason. The result of this effort was a media campaign including the rental of a billboard downtown.
