A few weeks ago Ben Iten and I were invited to be guests on The Other Side podcast, a production of The Dispatch newspaper. The Other Side podcast is a show “on a mission to discuss important cultural and social issues relating to race, culture, gender and equality.”
This Saturday is our Annual All Members Meeting. It’s at this meeting that the current Board provides the community with a recap of the year to date, highlighting wins and opportunities for growth or improvement moving forward. This meeting is also the perfect time for members of the community to make their voices heard both literally by speaking up on things that are important to them as well as with their votes by electing or re-electing the members to the Board.
Rose has been an invaluable resource to HCCO for over 3 years and we will be sad to see her leave. But of course we wish her the best as she sets out on a new adventure in her professional life.
This past weekend was our annual summer picnic. We had between 45-50 people attend, shared a delicious potluck meal together, had lots of great conversation, raised $150 for the Mid-Ohio Foodbank, and put on our very first pie contest. In this post I thought I’d share some highlights and thank those that made it all possible.
