The Winter Solstice–also known as The Longest Night, Midwinter, Yule, and Jol–is a day that human beings across the globe have been celebrating since the stone age over 15,000 years ago. It represents the shortest period of sunlight in a single day for the whole year, and in turn, the longest period of darkness.

The winter months to follow were typically difficult for early peoples. In fact, they came to be known as “the famine months.” Today of course, winters aren’t so hard on our stomachs–quite the opposite for many of us! But our human need for community, connection, and celebration has not changed. And so we are excited to announce that we will once again be hosting our annual Winter Solstice Banquet and we’d love it if you joined us.

We have limited availability so be sure to reserve your spot today.

Note: Families with children are welcome. Children under 12 are free. Childcare will not be available at the event.

Entrees:

  • Sage Roasted Turkey Breast
  • Portobello Ravioli (Vegetarian)
  • Veggie Quinoa Bowls** (Vegan) **
    • By request Only. Must include this request when purchasing your ticket. Vegan requests must be submitted by 11/29/19 to guarantee entree availability.

  • Assorted Cheesecakes

Drinks:

  • Soft Drinks & Ice Tea
  • Cash Bar with onsite bartender. Cocktails, Beer, & Wine.

Our goal is to have a live four string quartet, like we did last year, but we’re still working out the scheduling. Fingers crossed!

This is a special event and we encourage our members to dress up and help set the feel for the evening.

We are taking donations for The Open Shelter.

Please bring some new travel sized toiletries, gently used or new winter clothes (all ages), and new socks/underwear/undershirts.

This year the celebration continues after the Banquet! We’ll be headed to a nearby establishment for even more food, drinks, and fun. All are invited!
